We had a blast this year for the 4th of July. I told Russ that I wanted to get out and do something, and boy did we! The day started bright and early down at the Provo parade. We went with the Bringhurst fam, which is a great way to start any celebration. The parade was great, but maybe Tay will be interested next year. From there we went to lunch and then on to Seven Peaks. I have never been there before so I had a great time, well minus the bee sting. Yes, I got stung by the biggest bee in the world while sitting in water and holding Tay. Needless to say, I took it like a champ. Aka, I freaked out, I cried, then cried some more. Um...nobody ever told me that a bee sting would make your body part feel like it was on FIRE!!! Thankfully Paul and Alisha took the baby while Russ took me to the first aid station. They even waited to laugh at me until I was gone. The rest of the day was spent in the water and sun, it was awesome!
We then came home and prepared for the BBQ. We got started a little later than planned because we were all dead from the crazy day. The burgers and dogs were great, even better after Paul suggested putting the avocado bean dip ON the hot dog, delicious!
The fireworks were the last thing on the agenda and I must say, I could have skipped them. Normally I am a sucker for fireworks but not this year. We all had grumpy kids so waiting for an hour for the show to start was NOT enjoyable. All in all it was one of the best 4th of July's that we have ever had!
