4th of July

We had a blast this year for the 4th of July. I told Russ that I wanted to get out and do something, and boy did we! The day started bright and early down at the Provo parade. We went with the Bringhurst fam, which is a great way to start any celebration. The parade was great, but maybe Tay will be interested next year.

From there we went to lunch and then on to Seven Peaks. I have never been there before so I had a great time, well minus the bee sting. Yes, I got stung by the biggest bee in the world while sitting in water and holding Tay. Needless to say, I took it like a champ. Aka, I freaked out, I cried, then cried some more. Um...nobody ever told me that a bee sting would make your body part feel like it was on FIRE!!! Thankfully Paul and Alisha took the baby while Russ took me to the first aid station. They even waited to laugh at me until I was gone. The rest of the day was spent in the water and sun, it was awesome!
We then came home and prepared for the BBQ. We got started a little later than planned because we were all dead from the crazy day. The burgers and dogs were great, even better after Paul suggested putting the avocado bean dip ON the hot dog, delicious!
The fireworks were the last thing on the agenda and I must say, I could have skipped them. Normally I am a sucker for fireworks but not this year. We all had grumpy kids so waiting for an hour for the show to start was NOT enjoyable.

All in all it was one of the best 4th of July's that we have ever had!

Congratulations!!!

I just had to post this because I am SO excited for these two! This is my beautiful Janna and her fiance Keith!

I can't wait for all the frills and joy of wedding dress shopping, flowers, colors and all the love that comes with a planning wedding. Congratulations you two, your life is just about to begin!

Here is the ring and I must say Keith did an amazing job! Janna had been talking to a friend a lot about what kind of ring she would want so Keith went to that friend, got all the important info and got her this:
BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Happy 8th Anniversary!!!

Today is our 8th wedding anniversary! I can not believe how fast the time has gone. I swear we are still the punk kids that met at Dixie College ten years ago. Time is going so fast.

I love to pull out my wedding album each year and remember how fun our wedding day was. As I was looking today it occurred to me that a lot of our friends have not seen our pictures because they are recent additions in the last eight years! I thought it would be fun to share a few of them in honor of our special day! Enjoy!

I love flowers!

We have had so much fun this summer planting our flowers. Now that the weather is warming up a little here and there our flowers are starting to open. This little beauty decided to say hello today.

What do you do...

When Dad has the day off?

Well we decided to take our penny jar, cash it in and spend lunch at Rubio's. It was delicious and we got a lot of great pictures of Taylor. Have I mentioned how funny my kids is? Let me show you:

Funny Picture #1
If only I had the sound to go with this one, she is growling at us. Not real sure where she picked that one up, the dogs maybe?
Funny Picture #2
She snorts. All the time. This came from Russ teaching her to blow her nose. I'm telling you, hilarious.

Funny Picture #3
This is snorting without the spoon in the way. She loves to do this, I think is amuses her as much as it does us.

When Dad is off to a concert with his buddies?

Update my blog and try to ignore the smell of yogurt throw up from Tay. She is trying to show us who is the boss when it comes to bed time. We have had to try and let her cry to sleep, and tonight she figured out that if she cried hard enough, she would throw up. Not hard for her given her sensitive gag reflex. Still it was one of those times when I was trying to be strong until I heard her start choking, and went in to find her SCREAMING, and covered in a mess. I admit, I teared up because I felt like the most awful, evil mom ever. It just broke my heart to see her so messy and upset.

Weekend fun

I love the air show the HAFB puts on. We have gone every year for as long as I can remember and it never gets old. This year was especially fun because the plane my brother-in-law flies was featured right at the gate entrance. Now, I knew the plane had to be large because it is a re-fueling plane, meaning that it has to transfer fuel to other planes in flight. That alone is amazing to me and will require another post of it's own. When I actually saw his plane up close I was floored! My bro-in-law flies this honkin thing: So cool! I am very excited for the Air Force family week so I can actually go inside and check out the whole plane. This picture just doesn't capture the size of this thing.

Taylor loved all the people there. We never have to worry about her getting bored if there are people around. She spent most of the day waving to every person we passed and called to all the children. She loves everyone.

Then of course what would a trip home be without dinner at the Burger Bar and playing with family all night long!?! This girls have both discovered that they like to sit on your lap while you read to them. It is my most favorite new thing Tay does. Lucky Aunt Amy got them both at the same time. They had both lost a few clothes by this point, but it was the end of the day!I also thought I would put a little about Taylor's birthday on here. Everything was so perfect and so much fun! We loved having all our family together for the party and man, did we eat a lot of food! The cake turned out great although it had taken a back seat to the decorations. I have to say thank you to Jane for always sending me to the right places so I can learn to make the things I want!
